City of statues

Savannah’s most unique feature is probably its extensive population of statues. Lions and dogs guard many homes, while historic statues watch over the parks and squares

The famed, 150 year old fountain in Forsyth Park was being renovated during my visit, so the lady and her buglers were resting on the ground

Fun fact: as beautiful as this fountain is, it was actually ordered from a catalog!

Stone lions guard the entrance to the Andrew Low house

A private guard dog watches over the entryway of a large home

Another lion stands in front of the old cotton exchange
