Curtains of Spanish moss frame the city and hang down over everything. The moss is one of the most critical elements of the city’s gothic aesthetic—Savannah would feel very different without the Spanish moss!

It creates different moods depending on the time of day—shady and a touch gloomy when the sun is directly overhead, bright and golden at sunset or sunrise. I tend to find it a bit sullen at times but always beautiful, and it lends Savannah a unique character
